I created a mock up website to start considering the layout, fonts, style, sections etc to see what would look most style conscious for my audience and to consider how to promote my singer as an artist.

Here is my mock up website. In page one I used a fake picture of my artist. I chose this picture because I liked the blue adn the links to the sea which I aim to have in my music video. I don't think I want to recreate this image, however, because it doesn't address the audience in the way I intend to with her looking at the camera. I placed a bar at the top for the connecting pages and social media which I will do in my actual website but I will use a different one as I don't like the inconsistency of the colour choices I have made, so I will make sure it looks aesthetically pleasing by using the colours white and blue. The header only says the artist's first name which I realise doesn't particularly sell the newly emerging singer very well so I will change that to both first and last names. I do like the spacing I have created between the letters though. I created a photo gallery and a music video section which I intend to do on my website but I will put this on the second page and call it "media" or something along the lines of that so I can keep all aspects like photography, videography, sound, social media etc together. I created a merch page but I don't like the layout of it because it's rather small so I will change it to something larger and clearer. I made a contact me section which I want to put in my website too. I like the colours chosen but I don't think it's as consistent as I intended it to be so I will be more precise with colouring and selecting the shades of blue. On page two of my mock up website I put a another bigger gallery and videos section. I will change this on my actual website to keep everything together. I also created a news/blog section which I want to do again, only I will make it bigger and keep it to the colour scheme.
Codes and Conventions Followed and Broken
Consistency in Colours and Themes
I have chosen to use and associate my artist with the colour blue in order to break the pink, girly stereotype and to demonstrate her sad emotions. I've chosen a simple website design with ... to reflect her appearing as a simple girl who secretly has complex thoughts and feelings. I will create an emotional persona for my artist by making her pose as shyer and less happy. I intend to demonstrate a consistency with the theme of blueberries fandom, lower case typography and use of consistent font.
Layout
I have my artist's picture and name at the top of the website to clearly show the audience who the singer is. I will have my artists face and name on her album cover(s). I have a gallery section, a merch section, a tour section, a contact me section, a popup to join the fandom, and a blog section.
Image Choice
My header features the artists name so that the audience knows right away who she is. Despite the image in my mock up website, I still intend to have my artist looking towards the camera to address the audience immediately. I intend to break the stereotype of the artist looking away from the audience because the whole idea of my artist is that she wants other young women to feel seen when she felt invisible. I want the audience to feel engaged with my artist immediately as they view the page, not to feel intimidated but to feel on the same level as her. I will use a colour grading and consistent theme to all of my images and decide on specific mise en scene with meanings. My album covers will feature the artists name and an image of her to clearly associate her with the music.
Audio-Visual Aspects
The artists websites that I looked at all feature a media section where the artists promote their music videos or behind the scenes or photos, for example in a gallery. I will create a photo gallery too with images taken inside and outside in either film sets or on stages. I will create a behind the scenes video and tiktoks which will be on my media page of my website.
Interactivity
I will create social media pages for my website which will encourage viewers to interact with or recreate posts. I will make things move when you hover the mouse on them to encourage audience interacting with the website. I will make a fanbase for the audience to sign up to called the BlueBerries - my artist's colour and her last name. I will make a blog for the second page of my website which I will put questions and quotes on to allow audience to click on and read more about my artist.
Merch
I will use gelato to create my merch.
